CURTIS' PLAN FOR MOAB

Putting Moab's Taxpayers First

Let’s do this!

I believe Moab deserves leadership that listens, respects, and serves its citizens. My plan is simple: put the Moab taxpayers first by stretching every dollar, optimizing City operations to be efficient and effective, and to promote a culture of accountability for City elected and executive leadership.

I want City Hall to be a place where doors are open, leaders are accessible, and every voice matters. I believe in honest conversations, practical solutions, and making decisions with, not for, the people of Moab. Together, we can restore trust, strengthen our local economy, and ensure Moab remains a community where families can thrive, seniors feel secure, and our young people see real opportunities right here at home.

Taxpayer Respect

Moab families and citizens work hard to make ends meet, and City Hall should do the same. I will:

  • Stop aggressive tax increases that are pushed through with minimal public input.

  • End wasteful spending and duplication of services.

  • Protect taxpayer dollars by prioritizing essentials over bureaucracy. I believe every dollar matters, and I'll make sure your money is spent wisely and transparently.

Transparency & Accountability

City government belongs to the people, not a closed circle of decision-makers.
I will:

  • End "bubble" decision-making by bringing citizens back into the process.

  • Make government open and respectful, with accessible leaders, unlocked doors, and consistent hours.

  • Restore trust through honesty, accountability, and clear communication. I will never forget that elected leaders work for you.

Infrastructure & Planning

Moab deserves forward-looking leadership that protects our homes and builds a stronger future. I will:

  • Update and enforce flood mitigation plans to keep families and businesses safe.

  • Take meaningful action on affordable housing with real solutions and updated plans.

  • Increase our access to state and federal resources for infrastructure and housing.

  • End the neglect of collaborative long-term community planning with Grand County I want a Moab that is ready for the challenges of tomorrow, not just reacting to the problems of today.

Economic Development

A strong local economy means a stronger community. With sales tax as the city's main revenue source, we must do more to support local businesses. I will:

  • Champion small businesses and entrepreneurs who fuel our economy.

  • Use my strong relationships at the county, state, and federal level to bring stability and investment to Moab.

  • Prioritize policies that keep Main Street vibrant and welcoming. When our local businesses thrive, our whole community wins.

Workforce & Culture

Moab deserves a culture of fairness and respect, both at City Hall and across the community. I will:

  • End the practice of increasing the financial burden to the taxpayers by continual budget increases for unaccountable lawyers, lobbyists, and executives.

  • Treat the taxpayers, and city employees, with fairness, respect, and accountability City Hall should set the tone for a respectful, community-first culture. That's the kind of leadership I'll bring.

A Moab That Works for Everyone

This plan is about more than policies, it's about people. Together, we can restore efficiency in government, support our community, and build a future that works for everyone who calls Moab home.
