Curtis Wells Family First

Honest. Accountable. Committed.

I'm a proud father of three amazing daughters, and everything I do is guided by my love for them. Moab has shaped who I am, and I want to give back by helping build a future where families can thrive, seniors feel secure, and our young people see real opportunities right here at home.

An Entrepreneur
at Heart

At the age of 4 years old, my Mom moved our family back to her hometown of Moab in 1990. We didn't have any money nor did we own a home. But we had love, and a strong desire to lift each other out of poverty and improve our community. For the next 20 years I worked in my mother's restaurants, mixed cement for my stepfather's masonry business, and found peace and security in the desert. My family later launched a successful land & mineral company where I grew as a professional and businessperson. As an entrepreneur who has experienced so many segments of Moab's economy, I understand the needs and challenges of Moab's businesses and most importantly that business success and quality of life for permanent residents aren't mutually exclusive. I've spent my career balancing budgets, managing projects, and solving problems.

Curtis Wells Grand County Moab Commission Council

Serving Moab
as Commissioner

When I had the honor of serving as a Grand County Commissioner, I made improving infrastructure and fiscal responsibility my top priorities. In just four years, we secured more than $50 million in state funding for infrastructure projects, managed the county's budget with discipline, and worked hard to make sure taxpayer dollars were spent wisely.

Curtis Wells Rural Utah Listener

A Voice
for Rural Utah

After my time as Commissioner, I was asked to serve on Governor Spencer J. Cox's transition team to help his administration reform rural policy. Today, I serve as Chairman of Utah's Community Impact Board (CIB), overseeing a nine-figure fund that finances infrastructure and development across our state. I also serve on the Governor's Rural Affairs Council and the State Energy Council, where I make sure rural voices—Moab's voice—are heard at the highest levels.

Ready to
Lead Moab Forward

I believe Moab needs leadership that is fiscally smart, accountable, and focused on solutions. I'm running for Mayor to bring efficiency back to City Hall, support our local businesses, manage growth responsibly, and improve quality of life for everyone who calls Moab home.

Leadership that Listens

Above all, I believe government should be open and respectful. City Hall should work for the people, and communicate with honestly and directly, not through an internal PR office. If I have the privilege of serving as your Mayor, I promise to listen, to lead with integrity, and to always put our community first.
